Description
Plywood is engineered wood made by gluing together multiple thin layers of wood veneers. These layers, called plies, are carefully arranged with the grain of each layer-oriented perpendicular to the next. This cross-grain configuration is what makes plywood unique and incredibly strong compared to ordinary wood. Plywood is readily available in both softwood and hardwood species from origins like Asia, North America, and South America. Common uses are wide ranging and include floor, wall, and roof sheathing in home construction, wind bracing panels, vehicle internal body work, packaging, crates, and boxes, ready-to-paint surfaces, arts and crafts, concrete forming, furniture, cabinets, sheds and outdoor structures, truck and trailer flooring, boats and aircraft.
