Basswood

Basswood is a light, soft wood which is easily worked and popular with wood carvers. Excellent acoustic, nailing and screwing qualities. Very stable and glues well. It is lighter and less dense than White Pine, though still considered a hardwood.

Physical properties: Light in weight, evenly colored, soft texture, weak in strength.

Produced thicknesses: 4/4, 5/4, 6/4, 8/4.

Applications: Mouldings, picture frames, carving, components for musical instruments, core stock for doors, toys, interior cabinet parts, etc.
