A Global Woodworking Platform – VietnamWood 2025

To capture industry sentiment and the strong engagement at the fair, leading exhibitors from around the world shared their perspectives on Vietnam’s woodworking market and their experience at VietnamWood 2025.

Xavier Jorge, Sales Manager of BARBERÁN, S.A., noted, “At VietnamWood 2025, we not only had the opportunity to meet our Vietnamese clients, but also clients from India, China, and Thailand. This diversity of visitors made the event especially interesting for us.”

NGUYEN ANH TUAN, General Manager of CONG TY TNHH DAI PHUC VINH, marked, “Vietnam is the world’s second-largest wood-processing export market, just behind China. With an abundant and highly skilled workforce, Vietnam has established itself as a strong and reputable player in the wood-processing sector across the region. VietnamWood 2025 brings together an impressive lineup of suppliers from Europe, Taiwan, China, and Vietnam. The diverse range of exhibitors—from raw materials to consumables and accessories—makes the event a highly valuable and practical platform for the entire wood industry.”

Vince Tran, Country Director of Canadian Wood, said, “Vietnam is the No.1 exporter of wood and wood products in Southeast Asia, and with this strong position comes a clear trend: international buyers are increasingly demanding certified timber in their product lines. Canada is proud to offer a reliable supply of certified, sustainable timber to meet that growing demand.”

CHAN JICK CHUN, Regional Director, Southeast Asia & Greater China of American Hardwood Export Council, highlighted, “VietnamWood is a highly important exhibition for us. We have participated in more than 15 editions, which has greatly helped us build and strengthen our networks. We will continue to support this event in the years to come.”

Ian Chang, General Manager of INNOVATOR Machinery Co., Ltd., commented, “Vietnam has long been one of the most important countries for exporting furniture and wood-related products. We have been present in Vietnam since 2002, and we see it as a highly promising and potential market for our continued growth.”

Beyond those, several exhibitors also highlighted their product strengths.

Albrecht Bartolein, General Director of Blum Vietnam Co., Ltd., shared, “Blum is Austria’s leading furniture manufacturer. We have been active in the Vietnamese market for over 20 years, and we operate warehouses in both northern and southern Vietnam to better serve our customers.”

Sebastian Schaefers, General Director of Jowat Vietnam Co., Ltd., stated, “Jowat is a German company known for many signature products, such as PUR glues for edge-banding as well as thermoplastic adhesives. Come visit us—we are here to talk with you and introduce more of our products.”

NGUYEN DANG QUOC ANH, Project Manager of THUAN HIEN ONE MEMBER CO., LTD., mentioned, “THUANH HIEN introduces a range of new solutions at VietnamWood 2025. The first is our robotics system designed specifically for the wood-processing industry. In the long term, we aim to expand these applications into other fields such as mechanical engineering and machine manufacturing. Here, you can see our robot developed for wood finishing and coating. We also offer welding robots, material-handling robots, and integrated solutions that combine AI with advanced machinery. These innovations help boost productivity, reduce operational risks, and significantly enhance product quality.”

Jason Fang, Project Director of Nanxing General Agent CO., LTD., pointed out, “The products we are showcasing this time include automatic panel saws, automatic edge banders, and automatic drilling centers, as well as many other automation solutions for your reference.”

DAM QUI KY from BASSO INDUSTRY CORP., remarked,” Bex is a Taiwanese company with 40 years of experience in handheld products and equipment. Our products have earned numerous awards for their quality and durability. Our main product range includes drilling machines, welding machines, nail guns, grinders, and screwdrivers. In particular, this product line has received many prestigious awards in Taiwan.”

These shared perspectives reflect the strength of Vietnam’s woodworking sector and show how VietnamWood 2025 serves as a key hub where global brands connect with rising local demand and long-term opportunities.

Seminar: See the Trends, Shape the Future

Alongside the exhibition, VietnamWood 2025 hosted impactful concurrent seminars where industry experts and professionals shared timely market insights and practical knowledge essential for today’s woodworking industry.

  • The session “Vietnam's wood industry repositions: A strategic shift from processing to creative ODM to navigate trade hurdles and elevate its global position” highlighted global woodworking trends and explained how local suppliers are leveraging R&D capabilities and developing ODM products to regain competitiveness on the international stage.

  • In the seminar “Anti-dumping, EUDR, CE – EU Compliance Checkpoints That Could Cost Producers Millions of Euros,” the speaker, who has been at the forefront of recent anti-dumping cases involving China and Brazil, shared costly lessons from trade disputes and offered guidance for producers aiming to remain compliant and competitive in the EU market.

  • The session “Trend in Mass Timber Construction” emphasized that timber construction stores carbon rather than releasing it, emphasizing wood as a renewable and environmentally friendly material.

  • Three additional sessions organized by the Handicraft and Wood Industry Association of Ho Chi Minh City (HAWA) explored a wide range of topics, from lumber applications and the AHA platform to EUDR compliance, the role of American hardwoods in international design, and the integration of AI in wood product development.

NEXTGEN Pavilion: Crafting Everyday Moments with Wood

The NEXTGEN Pavilion, a dedicated zone at VietnamWood 2025, not only showcased award-winning works by students but also offered hands-on craft activities that attracted strong interest from both local and international visitors.

Together, these seminars and the NEXTGEN Pavilion strengthened VietnamWood 2025 as a hub of creativity, technology, and next-generation innovation within the woodworking industry.
